However, our lumber experts are also happy to work with 'do-it-yourselfers' and contractors to select top grade materials for their personal projects. Bay Area Lumber Company has made a large investment in its machine shop. We have thin-kerfed blades producing boards typically of 3/4” and not the standard 5/8” or 1/2”. A thicker board means a longer lasting fence! With precision machining we accurately prepare and finish all materials required to give your fence beauty and durability. Planing - We plane lumber down to 24” wide. Stair Stringers - We calculate and cut new stair stringers. Miter Cuts - Both on redwood and pressure-treated wood. Routing - We can cut flutes and routing on Redwood columns for arbors and gates. Dados, Rabbets, Grooves - We perform specialty cuts on redwood and pressure-treated lumber to your specification.
